🧐 A certain lawyer tested Him, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?”

👑 Jesus said, “What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?”

🧐 The lawyer answered, ➡️‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and your neighbor as yourself.’⬅️”

👑 Jesus responded, “You have answered rightly; do this and you will live.” Luke 10:25-28

"Fight the good fight of faith." 1 Tim.6:12

"... our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms...
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people." Eph. 6:12-18

I've just been walking outside in gusty winds and they tell us it is going to get worse. It got me thinking 🤔 Here are some effects of strong winds... 💨 "Moses left Pharaoh and prayed to God. God reversed the wind—a powerful west wind took the locusts and dumped them into the Red Sea. There wasn’t a single locust left in the whole country of Egypt." Ex. 10:19 (MSG) 💨 "Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea and God, with a terrific east wind all night long, made the sea go back. He made the sea dry ground. The seawaters split." Ex. 14:21 (MSG) 💨 "The boat..., buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it... Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake... “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” “Come,” Jesus said... Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus..." Matt. 14:24-30 NIV 💨 "When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongue as the Spirit enabled them." Acts 2:1-4 When storms come I have a choice: I can either run and hide... While praying this morning I came to listen to this song “Peace like a river”,
“Peace like a river, love like a mountain
The wind of your Spirit Is blowing everywhere.
Joy like a fountain, Healing spring of life
Come, Holy Spirit Let Your fire fall.”

The wind of the Spirit is blowing everywhere, starting like a gently ruffling trying to catch our attention. Nudging us to stop and look:
Look up from confusion,
Look up from busyness,
Look up from routine,
It is time to look up.
Look up at the wind, and as it captures you
Capture the heart of God, His greatness, His mighty power,
Capture the new, the fresh, the anointing,
Capture strength, hope and insight.

The River flows, the Wind blows… for you.

The Well of Living Water
I decided, one January, to take a few days to think about the year ahead; building a picture of things to work towards, sharpen my focus and clarify vision. I intended to spend time praying, reading my bible and using my devotional book as usual. In addition I planned to go for walks while I listened to sermons by inspiring preachers and take time to read a motivational book. I also wanted to keep an eye on what other people had written about the coming year on the Internet, scriptures and Facebook, etc. I aimed for a wide range of information to be at my disposal to get an overall picture of what God was saying through yesterday, today and for the future. I was ready. I prayed a short prayer for God to guide me when soon after an image came into my mind. I recognised the picture to be of the Samaritan woman who was drawing water from a well as in John chapter 4:1-26 (If you are unfamiliar with the story, you can read it here for yourself or copy the link at the bottom of the page) Her bucket at the ready the Samaritan woman was about to draw water which was her daily routine. That day Jesus sat on the stone surround beside the well. He talked to her and the words that stood out to me were, “If you knew who was talking to you, you would ask me for a drink.” As I took a moment to ponder on this biblical setting, I saw myself in a similar situation that morning; ready with my own bucket in the shape of a notebook to draw from the well of information at my fingertips. I knew Jesus was sitting in the middle of my ‘spiritual collection’ asking me a question, “Do you realise I am here?” By asking me, Jesus reminded me that the mixed bag of resources I was ready to delve into was meant as an aid to lead me to HIM; not to be used instead of being with Him. I realised, once again, how easily I can substitute spending time with Jesus with reading books and listening to other Christians about Him. Even reading and studying the bible can take the place of spending time with Him. (None of these things are wrong, but each has its right place.) Our busy schedule makes it increasingly harder to find time to read, listen and pray. Avoiding added stress to our time, we get into a routine where we simply drop our bucket in the global, Christian information well and hope that something good and healthy will come up. We settle for a scripture, a song, ‘a word for the day’ and maybe even a sermon. Our spirit craves for something to help us survive the rest of the day, the week, leading to the end of the month and so the year. For some of us this is, at times, all we can do when life takes us through storms and difficult circumstances. I increasingly enjoy putting the things aside that speak about Jesus and spend time with Him personally instead. Reading several inspirational Christian books or listening to a series of fitting sermons is good, however, it does not equal to meeting face to face with our Saviour. It may fill a hunger gap but only He can truly satisfy our soul and spirit. I know what it is like to eat while I work. There have been times when I’ve been too busy to taste what I eat; as long as it filled me up I was happy. In a similar way, feeding others with our knowledge and lessons learnt through experiences can also become second nature to us. However, if we solely focus on the needs of others we are putting ourselves in second if not last place. What we may not notice is that while we give to others, our own source of life becomes dry. So it is important that we do not confuse our well of life with Jesus; 'The source of life'. Think about this: When you first came to your Saviour, did you come to a scripture, a song or a sermon? No, you came to the person of Jesus Christ, the son of God. He is the source of life. Our first love. Out of Him flow rivers of living water. This He offers to us; from Him to us and through us. He is sitting by the well today, thirsty. Thirsty to spend time with you. Let me encourage you to take time, to lay aside those things that make up your well of information and resources, and speak with Jesus. Worship Him and listen to Him. So that you not only become completely fed and satisfied but you also become a filler of the well of encouragement. John 4 link: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+4&version=NIV ).

Are you thirsty?

John 7:37-38
💦All you thirsty ones, come to me! Come to me and drink! Believe in me so that rivers of living water will burst out from within you, flowing from your innermost being, just like the Scripture says!”

John 4:10
Jesus said, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.” 💦

... that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed— always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. 2 Corinthians 4:7-12

Lily of theValley
A little while ago when I was talking to Jesus, I was thanking Him for all that He had done for me. I thanked Him for always being there for me, always helping me to make the right decisions and so on. This changed into expressing thanks for who He is to me. I began to say things like, “You are my Rock, my salvation, a strong tower where I feel safe. You are my Comforter, my Joy and strength. When in the middle of my speaking out my love for Jesus, I heard another voice very clearly saying “You are the Lily of the Valley”. At first, I didn’t take much note of it. It wasn’t a phrase that I had used in recent times. As it persisted I wondered why it kept coming into my head, not that it disturbed me, so I decided to look it up as I knew it was in the Bible. As I opened my Bible (Amplified version, which expands on the meaning of the words) to Song of Solomon 2:1-2 I read the words of a song between two lovers: She says: “I am only a little Rose or autumn crocus of the plain of Sharon, or a (humble) lily of the Valleys (that grows in deep and difficult places).” He responds: “Like the lily among thorns, so are you, my love, among the daughters.” …and the song goes on. As I read those words I instantly knew that as I am declaring my love for Jesus, so Jesus was sending His love in return, and our song went on. I am sharing this with you because when there is so much going on around us, we can easily forget that Jesus is waiting to tell us how much He loves us. At times it overwhelms me how real His presence is to me, like any other person sitting beside me. He listens to me and He talks to me. He is the one who totally gets me and understands my passion for the things I like and dislike. He brings the best out in me and steers me away from dangers that come across my path. As some of you know these last few years have been pretty difficult for me and my family when we lost our son Sam. Yet, I can honestly say, like a Lily of the Valley that grows in deep and difficult places, I am stronger today than I have ever been. The more I look to God, lean on His strength and draw on His unlimited resources, the less I want to rely on my own thoughts and opinions. His truth has fed me and raised me up, I am not who I used to be. My roots go deeper, and my face is toward the light. My hope and prayer is that you too will make time to spend with Jesus so that He can give you His word of truth for your life, your every day situations. You too can sing songs with Him and know that you are loved.

Msg from God:
As I've just been praying I felt Father God tell me that one of my Facebook friends was feeling/ thinking that no one knows how they feel or know what is going on with them.
God wants you to know that He knows exactly how you feel and the things you are struggling with. He is there for you and Jesus is with you right now. Simply reach out to Him, whisper His name and He will comfort and give you strength. You are not alone. Xxx

How can I pray for you today? 🙏

I believe that there are more answers in heaven than that there are prayers prayed to release them.

Let's take hold of everything that has been made available to us through Jesus.

Ps 34:10 "... those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing."
